ConTrak’s Florida division, ConTrak Construction, was retained in 2006 to construct the 1,926-square-foot, two-story building addition for The Evans Group, an architectural design, land planning and interior design firm in Orlando, Florida. The addition was designed by The Evans Group to house its landscape design team.
The exterior draws attention with its bright green color and curved shape—an effect that was designed to represent the "green thumb" of the landscape designers. With Orlando's subtropical climate, glass block windows were employed to allow light to infuse the space while maximizing the building's efficiency.
The open interior includes exposed mechanical systems and common work areas to provide the landscape designers sufficient space to collaborate. Work began in mid-summer 2006 and was completed in November.
